What does Earth Day mean to you? To some people it means recycling, energy conservation, and giving back to the earth. We here at Tasty Bite believe in working towards reducing our footprint everyday. Our belief is creating an ecosystem that takes into account renewable energy, waste reduction, and sustainable agriculture. Since we practice this effort to be green everyday it is not often that we talk about it. We wanted to take this special day to share our efforts and active projects to make the world a better place.
Renewable energy: A major potion of Tasty Bite’s energy requirement is generated by food and agriculture waste. In particular, the heat used for our kettles and sterilizers comes from this source. We also switched from fuel oil to sugar cane water briquettes heat the water boilers. Conserving and optimizing the use of energy is a constant priority at Tasty Bite. 100% of Tasty Bite products are manufactured with renewable resources.
Waste Reduction/Water Conservation: All water used in the Tasty Bite factory to manufacture our food is treated organically and recycled back into the Tasty Bite farm. Every drop is precious. With this system we save at least 40,000 liters every day, this is enough water to sustain a village in India.
Sustainable Agriculture: We use our farm in India as a demonstration farm for the highest yielding, most sustainable practices for farmers in the community. We teach local farmers best practices for farming and increasing vegetable yield, giving back to the community and our earth.
